| Event Details : | Last year in honor of our Founder’s 60th birthday (January 25th), we are threw her The Biggest Aquarian Birthday Bash along with 60 other Aquarians and 120 additional guests. The event was a fun night for all and at the same time helped us raise enough funds to repair 10 additional vehicles. We decided with its success that we would hold this event annually with a different Honorary Chair. This year Ernest Hooper, columnist with the St. Petersburg Times will serve in that roll along with Ted Webb from 970WFLA and Jen Epstein from Fox 13 News (Birthdays January 29th).
The birthday bash will be a “groovy scene” and it will be a flashback to those crazy sixties, tie-dye and all! However, we are not stuck in the past; thanks to the savvy world of social media we are going to reach a vast audience for this event.
Wheels of Success. Founded in 2003, is Tampa Bay’s only 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing a full range of transportation solutions, including vehicle replacement; car repair; and licensing, car payment, and down payment assistance to low and moderate income working families. Without reliable transportation, a person’s ability to maintain employment and to take care of basic family needs is greatly challenged. To date we have provided more than 800 transportation related services, 391 being vehicles, preventing these families’ lives from skidding out of control. 89.7 cents of every dollar Wheels of Success raises goes directly to program costs. Only 10 cents is used for administrative or fundraising costs.
